It’s all about money, the paper currency that makes the financial world go around.  You need it to pay for a place to live, food, clothing, education and to care for the needs and wants of your family and loved ones.  For many Iranian-Canadians the foreign exchange companies that sprang up in Tehranto in the late eighties were the only places they felt they could turn to for their daily financial needs.  These were the places that made it possible for the thousands of Iranian students to get money for their tuition, for us to send money to our grandparents, and they were the first stop for many newcomers who had cashed-in their life-savings and arrived in Canada with armfuls of Rials.  These are the stories of the places that provided financial services to Tehranto.
